This is book three in Annabella Michaels' Souls of Chicago Series. It’s time for Landon and Micah’s story! I WAS SO EXCITED! What shocked me the most out of this very mystery filled book was how out of all of them this one is my favorite of the series so far.I loved how the author kept me thinking while reading. Trying to figure out who the stalker was and all the little things involved! I loved it! There was also the mystery behind Micah and Landon’s pasts. Each has their own sad stories. Micah’s, more dark and haunting, and Landon’s was heartbreaking in its own way. He’s a man who's just unlucky in love… until he convinces Micah to love him, that is.
We, of course, get more Greene family love and that is the true warmth of this story. I find the moments when they are all together to be the heartbeat that links it all. This family truly takes in strays lol. First Giovanni, then Ryan, now Micah. And there’s a lot of awesome family announcements happening here as well.
So, fabulous mystery with a well-placed twist that I found quite smart! There’s super sweet and super sexy going on here and that’s an awesome recipe!
The epilogue obviously prepares us for book 4 and the infamous Rocko’s story. He’s one I’m wondering about!
You really DO have to read these in order. Though you can read them as standalones I don’t recommend it because you will miss a lot.

Another great add to the series! Landon and Micah we've seen since book one, and kinda already feel like we know them some. We get some past-background scenes from when these two meet, because their story started out definitely in a few moments before the start of this book. This book starts right where book 2 ended. You'll want to fight for these two to just shut up and kiss already! This story is suspenseful and I cried for sure. Great read and prefect sweet moments. Can't wait for the next.
These two are amazing together...they need each other and can't see it... gush! Seriously, Annabella Michaels does it again. This whole series with the Greene boys has been amazing. There are hold your breath moments, and parts when you just can't love these two any more. If you want a save each other kind of story - this is it. Drama, love, romance, sex, and adventure/mystery. It has everything!
I'm just such a big fan of this series and author. Wowsa! This book has a bit of everything, the intimacy is hot hot hot.. I loved the dynamics between Micah and Landon, and it was great to catch up with the rest of the Greene family to see where they're lives are heading. I'm really excited and am waiting with anticipation for Rocko's story, because there's just something about drummers that make me all hot and bothered..,
Micah and Landon burn up the pages!! Micah is an ex-Navy Seal *gushes* and Landon is the older brother of Carter and Caleb that we met in the first two books. Micah keeps trying to push Landon away thinking that Landon deserves better than him. However the pull between them is soon too strong to ignore and the two end up finally sparking that fire.
As in her other stories in the series, Annabella seamlessly interweaves other characters into the story. I love the Greene family!! You will laugh. You will cry. You will not be disappointed. A must read!!
This Souls of Chicago Series is exceeding all my expectations. I absolutely love it so far. I couldn't wait for the story between Micah and Landon to be released. It is a magnificent story. I love the non-serial killer mystery throughout the story. The way these two sexy stubborn men think they are gonna fight against the insta-wet moments. And the EPILOGUE.....I'm a sucker for a fantastic epilogue and this story has one. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS FANTASTIC SERIES!!!!!
I love this series so much and have been so anxiously awaiting this third installment! My preorder came through at midnight last night and I stayed up and read till I finished! The story between Landon and Micah was worth the wait, these two burn up the pages! This book is smart, funny, warm and very, very sexy! Landon and Micah both carry secrets and scars that run very deep and they find so much love and healing in each other! I don't want to give any spoilers away, you really must read for yourself! Annabella Michaels has become a one-click author for me and with the release of Protecting the Soul has left me wanting even more!

Good God, author Annabella Michaels can hit one grand slam after another. Protecting the Soul is another 10 on a five-star scale. It’s one of those books for which it’s really difficult to feel like you can do justice with a review. It’s one you just slap on the “must read, you won’t be disappointed” label, and then sigh heavily.
In Protecting the Soul, Landon finally has his turn at finding love, and it’s with none other than brother-in-law Giovanni’s man-hunk ex-SEAL best friend Micah. How two characters can be so custom-made for one another, even through painfully navigating their individual flaws, vulnerabilities, and demons, only to come out stronger on the other side, is a testament to Michaels’ talent as an author. The reader can’t help but feel like part of their story, sensing and experiencing each and every emotion, movement, thought, and fear. The plot twists and turns are so brilliantly played, and the action scenes and jolting eclipses into Micah’s past are emotionally gut-wrenching. The love scenes, though? Touching. Explosive. Tender. Vulnerable. Exhilaratingly satisfying.
Scorching hot doesn’t even come close to describing Micah and Landon. It’s more like they smolder – their flame is one that burns eternal.
I’m absolutely head-over-heels in love with Michaels’ writing style and her storytelling prowess. This series is like the best friend ever intimately comfortable, familiar, loving, and simply put… completely everything you could ever want and need.
